Suggestions for Grasshopper

Thank you for sharing Grasshopper. I've been playing with version 1.3.0.102 and it has a lot of potential, but also has some problems that I think could be addressed fairly easily. Here are a few bugs and suggestions. I'm running on Windows 7 32-bit.

- Bug: Installer always creates Grasshopper subfolder, even when user specifies a custom install location

- Bug: Preferences do not get saved if the program is run from the start menu shortcut. They do get saved if grasshopper.exe is run directly.

- Bug: Relative path to to svn.exe in the settings does not work if the program is run from the start menu shortcut. It does work if grasshopper.exe is run directly.

- Bug: Configuration entries are not saved if the program is run from the start menu shortcut. They do get saved if grasshopper.exe is run directly.

- Bug: Doesn't handle svn server URL that contains spaces. It does work if you manually escape spaces with %20.

- Feature: Really need the ability to Select/Unselect All in the query results. It is very tedious to select the entries one at a time if the list is long. I suggest the addition of a checkbox on the column header above the checkboxes in the table, since this is common practice.

- Feature: Add ability to select a revision range instead of a date range. Both methods are useful, so both should be supported.

- Bug: The program does not recognize changes to the set of selected entries in the query results until there is another mouse click elsewhere. For example, run a query, click the checkbox to select one entry. The Wizard is not yet enabled. Select another entry, then the Wizard is enabled. Uncheck both entries and the Wizard is still enabled until you click something else.

- Feature: When running the wizard and selecting a template, it would be nice to be able to save changes to the templates. It would be even better if modified templates could be saved using a custom name.

- Bug: The About box does not report the program version.

- Bug (web site): The manual section for the basic text formatter is missing.

Thanks for your time and effort.

Please ignore the first bug, that is not correct. I was thinking of the start menu. The installer always creates a Grasshopper subfolder under the provided folder name in the start menu. It would be nice if the subfolder could be avoided, but it's not a big deal.

I think the 2nd-4th bugs can be fixed by setting the "Start in:" path in the start menu shortcut.

Thanks

Thanks for your feedback. It might take a little time before you see the features fixed. Seems like there is some work on installer and Grasshopper itself. We appreciate your patience in the meantime.
